1. Hoy did
you get involved in this tortuous world full of shadows?
I
began to compose my own music in 1994. I had been playing in bands which did
not satisfy me artistically, but suddenly started to came out ideas to create
my own songs. These ideas defined what was happening or had already happened
to me. So this is how Latex was born in 1998.
Moreover,
I could not find musicians. This situation made me feel frustrated. However,
it gave enough strength to learn to play a lot of instruments. In this
way, my first Cd, called “ Die and Live forever” , recorded in a mixer of 4
channels, came to light in 2000.
At
last, just in time to record my new songs, I got to know some musicians in
2002. They were:
Zero
(guitar), Alky (bass), Demian (guitar) and Marian (drums).
So,
with new material, the ep “ Porno Star” and more songs, we played some live
shows during 2002 and 2004.
2. Which
dark influence fed you to make your sound proposal real?
The
influences are infinite. First of all, when I was a little child I used to
listen to a lot of music at home. In fact I grew up listening to Rock and
Roll, Punk, Electronic music and also the sound track of movies.
Last
but not least, I finished devouring the Industrial music as a delightful
night appetizer.
On
the one hand, the counter culture, vampirism and magic always attracted me.
On the other hand Pornography, was essential for my growth as a musician, and
Fetishism has always been in me.
3. Which
wretched souls belong to your horde, and which are their instrumental virtue
that made them join your project?
At
the moment we are undergoing a stage of changes in our band. Now the band has
three members. They are: Mr. Latex (voice and guitar), Alky (bass) and Marian
(drums).
4.
The Latex, is a sublime material and at the same time provocative, what is
your intention of being called like that?
As
far as I am concerned, it is the most sexual material of the planet, it
originates in the sap of certain trees and it comes directly from the
veins of the elemental nature of the earth. So it would be the most material
, the most physical, the lowest, the desire itself..
The
name came up without looking for it and in a short time it had already become
my name.
5.
Do you enjoy practicing sadomasochistic art?
Sadomasochism
and bondage are essential in my music as a way of doing art. How can we
enjoy pain and turn it into pleasure with whips and handcuffs? From the
practice of these we can create a kind of art, music, photography, paints ,
movies and of course everything with certain artistic credibility.
Im
Latin America, there is little knowledge of S&M and Fetishism, But there
are also a lot of people who like it, for pleasure or just as a fashion,
however they do not practice it.
6.
What do you think about the Gothic subculture?
From
my point of view the Gothic style is growing all around the world, because as
usual the mainstream absorbs the things of the underground that for many
people are new, they adapted them to the actual business and the funniest
thing is that they created bands in order to make them sing pop ballads with
a gothic image, ja!.
Nevertheless,
at least this commercial explosion brings little satisfaction to those bands
who are really interested in this kind of music and has been trying to
succeed for a long time, because they have a tiny possibility of being known.
My
band had filtered trough the Gothicism for obviously sound reasons. The
reasons are keyboard, atmosphere and voices, Also, because it is the nearest
style to industrial music.
7.
How do you see this style on you society and in the continent, and do you
still believe that there are future or real proposal in the genre?
In
my opinion it is trying to improve, however it is going very slowly. In spite
of the existence of new bands, they are still as empty as ever.
Since
2004, in Argentina it is more difficult and expensive for the bands to play
on stage because 193 teenagers died in a rock concert, because the place was
not able to hold such a huge concert.
So,
the underground bands are dying slowly and without having the possibility of
being on stage.
I
am sure that this definitely won’t change in a long time. That’s why we are
ready to face the underground duel.
I
suppose that each country of South America must have a band, which has the
enough potential to succeed, however lots of them will never have the
opportunity to come to light. So, they feel artistically disappointed. I
believe that if you want to be an artist and be known you must have faith in
yourself and fight for what you want.
8.
Which evil works have you achieved so far, and how did you make them real?
“Die
and Live forever” was my first evil creation, which was recorded in a mixer
of 4 channels in 2000. This is an extremely experimental Cd, in which
different styles are mixed up.
Two
years after that, I recorded all the instruments again, and ep “ Pornostar”
was edited, and finally it came out in 2003.
Then
in 2005 I decided to re-mix and re-edit it, and for this year I am preparing
two eps, which are going to have remix of the songs “Porno Star” “Red velvet”
and some covers, moreover the song “ Mars two girls” is going to be included,
whit other bands of South America, in a album, called Harmoni Mundi”, which
is represented by the dance Macabre of Bruno Kramm seal.
9.
How are your live shows,?
The Stage becomes in a movie
full of sensations whit e apocalyptic presentation, fetish image, dancer
girls, performances and a powerful interpretation of the songs, which don’t
reach the level of a theatric band, it is for real!.
10.
What did you do in your free time, do you torture virgin souls?
Nowadays,
I am recording, making demos of new songs, pre-producing new eps, the design,
the photography and the same time I am producing other bands to. And when I
have free time I torture virgins souls and I allow them to torture me.
11.
Why have you change the name “Evil fuckers” to “Latex”?
From
2003 to 2005 I had to use Evil fuckers in Argentina because “Latex” was
already being used by another band. At the end, I was able to use my original
name Latex.
12.
Ok, he time is over, do you want to give the last damnation and bizarre
greetings to this far away lands?
First
